13 Fun Things To Do This Fall

13 Fun Things To Do This Fall

Hello, Fall!

We are now in the beautiful fall season, and just like anyone else I’m looking forward to a little bit of cooler weather. Sun, I do appreciate you greatly but you’ve been scorching me lately and me and little baby Bazile do not appreciate. Moving on..

I’m not sure what all is considered “popular” fall topics other than the usual.. fashion, recipes, fall favs, etc. So I got to thinking and my thoughts kind of veered towards what I would even do this fall to make the season feel inviting and cozy and well… however else the fall season should feel. You know how it feels to you so feel free to fit in your own description because clearly I’m sucking at coming up with appropriate adjectives right now. Let’s blame it on second trimester pregnancy brain. Lol!

So, with this thought of “Hmm.. what fun things should I do this fall?” I decided to write about just that. Clever? Maybe not, lol! But I like it so here it is!

[ SN: I’m making it a goal for myself to have a more eventful fall season than I did a summer season. This summer I was so fatigued and low on energy during the first trimester that it really just passed me by. This girl could not keep up! But fear not, I’ve prayed for energy so I’m ready to tackle this next season! ]

13 Fun Things To Do This Fall

  1. Rent a cabin. I believe this would be an exciting experience for anyone, especially if you’ve never done it before. It could serve as a weekend getaway with your spouse or a fun trip with the girls! Consider picking a location with a variety of activities nearby. Or if isolation is ideal for you, find a more intimate, secluded location.
  2. Attend or volunteer at a fall festival or fair. I remember these were always fun as kids! You can make this a family affair or even get some friends together with their families and everyone have a great time at a church, school, or town festival! Maybe you could offer some assistance or products at one of the festivals or participate in a contest! Even enjoy a hayride! The state fair actually comes to my part of MS in October so I’ll be sure to go there! Chicken on a stick and taffy here I come!

  3. Watch fall tv! The fall season has some of the BEST tv shows in my opinion! I’m super excited for the return of the following shows: This is Us, Black-ish, American Housewife, How to Get Away With Murder! What will you be watching this fall?!

  4. Go on a hike or take walk in a new environment. So if you’re like me, you’re not 100% an outdoors person, but you do find that nature can be beautiful and relaxing. If hiking is your thing, go for it! Just taking a nice, long walk surrounded by God’s creations in a woodsy area, especially once the leaves change colors, would be rather peaceful.

  5. Decorate your front door/porch. It’s a new season! Get those creative juices flowing! Get a wreath. Try a fall pillow(s) for that nice chair or bench you have out front.  Are you like me with yet no porch furniture? Well girl, let’s go shopping and go get one! Maybe even getting a nice plant to place beside the door would do the trick!

  6. Read a new book. Maybe there’s a book you’ve really been looking forward to crack open! Well, this could be your chance.

  7. Complete a fall diy project. Let your creative juices flow yet again! This could be a personal project like a decorative piece for your home. If you have kiddos, maybe you could make it a family project! Pinterest will be your best friend here.

  8. Cook a few new fall dishes. All I can say is Pinterest and YUMMY! The possibilities here are endless. From appetizers to desserts and the main dishes in between! Invite people over to share your creations! Have a fall potluck!

  9. Go to a haunted house. Okay, so this isn’t really my forte because I scare easily enough without all the costumes, make-up, and creepy sound effects. So feel free not to invite me if you decide to do this for a night out. I won’t hold it against you! Have fun though!

  10. Go shopping. So, do we really need a reason to go shopping? I believe the new season is reason enough! Shopping for new fall clothes and shoes is definitely a given. We could also go get some new home decor. Maybe consider browsing different stores like little markets or antique shops to change things up a bit! That sounds like a fall-ish thing to do to me!

  11. Build a bonfire. Can we say ooey-gooey s’mores! Yum! I’ve only experienced a bonfire once in my entire life, and I really feel like I’m missing out. They always seem like so much fun on television and in the movies. Yes, I’m one of those.

  12. Watch football/attend a game. Many are already watching football of course, but have you joined in on all the action?! Consider going to an actual football game, maybe a college game. Get some old college friends together and go attend a game at your alma mater. Go tailgating! The works!

  13. Go to a pumpkin patch. My older sister, Erin, had mentioned us going here to take my little nephew, Mathis. So you could think about making it a family affair with the kiddos! Grab some lunch! Make a day of it!

I really enjoyed this topic. You’ve given me a lot to do this fall, which is one of my favorite seasons.

Some of the things I enjoy doing is planning (I know, I’m a weirdo), decorating, traveling to football games, eating fall-themed foods, and spending time with family. The fall weather always makes me change up my wardrobe and get into a lot of outdoor activities. We also have homecoming to look forward to! 🙂

Thanks for giving me permission to go shopping lol because I have been feeling guilty about it. That’s my favorite thing to do, well, and watching The Good Doctor on ABC just one of my fall shows. But as I read your post, you got me thinking I’m going to buy some plants to put on my porch. I can imagine them making the place look homey. And, it has been a while since I’ve been to a football game. That sounds like fun and it’s doable. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks for all the great fall ideas!

Haha! You’re welcome for the permission! I’m glad to hear you’re going to be trying some of these ideas! I’d love to see what you’re going to do to your porch. I also enjoy that show; I’d have to play cactch up though, never quite finished the end of last season for some reason. And, it’s been forever since I actually attended a football game, but the atmosphere is definitely awesome. Be sure to get something good from the concession stand (ooo like nachos!) if you decide to go to one! 🙃
